The CID Circular

01. 3rd Istanbul CID Congress
The Istanbul Section of CID will host for the third time the
international congress, 8-12 April 2009. You are invited to showcase
your work or simply attend, together with dance practitioners from many
countries. The venue is in the heart of the city, 10 minutes walking
from Taksim Square. As in all CID congresses the program includes:
research reports (papers), lectures, classes, performances, video
projections, exhibitions, evenings, opening cocktail & gala dinner,
visits to places of special interest. All forms of dance are
represented. Strictly non-profit. Not to be confused with festivals,
workshops, competitions, forums or open conferences. Registrations are open.

02. Festival in Romania
International festival in Romania 8-16 August 2009 invites folk dance
groups.

03. Dance studies in Norway
Scholarships for dance students from Indian universities. Courses are at
bachelor level, taught in English.

04. Choreographers' rights, Switzerland
For choreographers interested in intellectual property rights,
traditional knowledge and folklore, meeting to be held in Geneva, from
29 June to 03 July 2009.

05. Dance and shamanism, UK
Workshop on dance and shamanism combining Shamanic practices with the
exploration of movement and imagery through the Afro-Brazilian orixas.
Brighton, UK, 28th March.

06. Moving meditation, USA
Workshop on Moving meditation practice, ecstatic dance, native American
shamanism and ritual & essential touch", California USA, 31 May - 05
June 2009.

07. Membership fee reminder
Members of the CID are reminded again to send membership fee for 2009.
The fee can be sent by cheque, bank transfer, or via www.paypal.com
Only holders of letter of confirmation for 2009 can use the title of
"Member of the International Dance Council CID-UNESCO" after their name.
