Lisa Darby & Gregor Rebula just let us know about the end of their partnership. They represented England and were British national Amateur Latin champions.
Lisa retires from competitive dancing. Here is what she wanted to say.
After many years of my successful dance career have decided to retire from competitive dancing. With my partner Gregor Rebula we were 3 times Closed British Champions and 3 time UK closed champions. I feel very blessed to have had the partnership that we did, not only for our success but for our devotion that we both gave to our partnership.
It's come to a time in my life where I feel to set myself new challenges in my personal life and also as a professional dancer. Not as a competitor but in other aspects. After making my decision, Gregor and I talked and decided together that the UK in January would be our last competition.
Gregor plans to continue his dancing career and in this I wish him all the very best. I would like to thank our teachers for making my journey a memorable one, Ray Rose shoes for their support throughout our career, both our families for unconditional support and of course to Gregor, my closest friend, who over the past 6 years together helped me achieve my dreams, gave me lasting memories and has my upmost respect as a person and dancer. I know our friendship doesn't end here.
